Peels death came 'out of the blue' as well.
I hadn't listened to his late night show since he  stopped playing bands like The Undertones, Spear of Destiny, The Men They Couldn't Hang, etc...

I did enjoy 'Home Truths' (Saturday mornings on Radio 4) immensely though (now to be restarted)

The death of Beryl Burton, the Yorkshire-born multiple World Champion (& beater of many equivilant mens records) was a stunner as well

Funny, no one has mentioned Fred Dibnah :!:

Of the three listed, can't really say any of their deaths had any
effect on me.

Paul Shapter.

I'm surprised as well.  Yeah, Fred's death also had a bit of an effect on me.  :( (he was only a short distance away from where I live as well and I've been to his house plenty of times)

Hi,
I can understand you being in bits - I have an Airedale and they are one of the most loyal, disobedient, intelligent dogs you could ever have the pleasure to share your life with.

I would've done, but Fred is still one of my heroes, besides it would probably have hi-jacked the thread too much?
