Wipers just not right
« on: August 07, 2006, 17:05:41 »
Ok with the recent rain I found my wipers not working correctly. I turn on intermittent and they are just that. I get one wipe break 2 wipes for a bit then on full try to turn off and just stay on for 10 mins before stopping.

I have changed the park switch ( not that I thought it was that but I had one) and I have tried 2 timer (red) relays. Made no difference.

One other thing also overs wipes when it goes up the wall.

As you have checked the park switch you know where the motor is. Take it apart, clean it all out dry it  re lube where necessary, then re-assemble see what its like then. Most defenders leak just above the mount for the wiper motor and as such they are prone to malfunction because of water ingress

Yep change Park switch for a new one. But the  Park switch should only control were the motor should stop. The Red relay is the timer for intermittent. Have now changed the wiper switch to see if it is that.

So will wait to see need so rain to test properly.
