Great, Jaguar is in trouble so bundle it it profitable Landrover to make it look more appealing but in reality itll just shaft a good brand and end up going the way of MG/Rover

Having read the official release from Ford that started all this off, I have to say not one brand was mentioned.

'Unprofitable business units' were, but not brands, and with the way Ford is currently sat, that could mean just about any part of the business.

Jaguar does not stand alone in the Ford empire  - its bundled in the PAG, which includes LR, Jaguar, Volvo.

Sadly, the media are yet again guilty of hack journalism.

Sell it to VAG (Volkswagen Audi Gruppe), then we know LR will go from strength to strength!

You only have to look at what they have done for Skoda and Seat.

Exactly what I mean my friend, they've brought Skoda from the laughing stock of the Automotive game to seriously good cars, and cheap.

Then why aren't they common on the roads yet?  I still laugh at Skodas.

We all know about you though...

It could mean good for the New Defender anyway, a VAG Diesel powerplant would be a serious piece of kit.

Do you have a copy of that that you can post up or link to? I always prefer to read facts than gossip.

Nobody complains about it, You're getting VW/Audi build quality for a bargain price. And I bet combining LR 4x4 technology and Quattro could make some really unstoppable machines!

Actually, the workers in Wolfsburg who are losing thier jobs seriously bitch about it.

Question: Touareg. Unstoppable?

Well the Race Touareg seems to be pretty good.

Which does raise the question, if VW were to be in control of LR, would they be prepared to support a second Cross Country Race vehicle? There are rumours that LR are planning more formal involvement with the Bowler Nemesis.

Regards

 I'll agree with that, but like it's Paj Evo rival - it's hardly production spec.
