i used to have the sinclair spectrum 128 k with built in tape player ,having to rewind the tape everytime you wanted to load a game was a nause  :D

i just got my old spectum 48k out the other week the one with the rubber keys

Remember typing the code in for a game from one of the magazines? And then spending hours trying to find the mistake.........

The first PC I worked on, in 1980,  was a Tandy Model II - which used huge 8" floppy discs, BASIC, and CP/M as the O/S. There were loads of different PC's around before IBM & Microsoft dominated the market in the early '80s. In 1977 there were the Tandy TRS-80 Model I, the Commodore PET and the Apple II.

 :lol:  :lol:  yep and I remember writing pointless little programs in 'basic' that made some dot move about the screen and finding it fascinating (oh the joys of childhood).

Still got a Commodore 64 plus tape and disk drive and thousands of games up in an attic somewhere  :)
Way back then - life crawled out of the mud, then it decided life was better and crawled back in!

my school used to have TRS80's and when i left school i workd on DEC PDP 11-44's.. with the disk spools and about the size of a 110.. all for about 5 meg of memory!!!
