. . . . . parked up at Rick Masons in Rushden this morning?

Only saw the back of it, and hence the MC sticker.  Hope it's nothing too serious being worked on.

It's mine! Hopefully coming the end of long running engine saga. He has managed to repair the damage caused at the other garage and got it running only to discover head gasket wrongly fitted by last garage and therefore leaking water. Once that's sorted he'll be taking off for MOT.

Would be nice to have in time for LRO show but not sure. Was he working on it when you saw it?

I hope not, I was paying him to work on mine today

To be honest, I was there as he opened up, and didn't come back til late, so didn't see Rick working on anything.  He must've been busy though, as he didn't get time to fit my new stainless brake pipes  :(

Phil,

I'm looking forward to getting behind the wheel again. Will be a bit of a shock after 9 months of the Honda!!

Hightower,

I was there first    . Been with him a couple of weeks now but hadn't heard from him since last Thursday so wondered how he was getting on :?  :? . Must ring him and tell him to stop working on shiny Discos and concentrate on knackered old 90s    .

Fingers crossed for the MOT thou :(  :( .

iia,

Rick is an independent garage who specialises in fixing Land Rovers.  He's only a small outfit, but from my experience knows his stuff.
He's situated on Quorn Road, Rushden.

Wherever he's working from he's very very slow!!!. Left loads of messages for him. Nothing! Had it a month but nothing. Are all independants inept. Are there any decent Land rover garages who do the job when they say they will. Why take the vehicle in unless you have every intention of doing nothing but that job until you are finisihed.

Never had this problem with MG garages. If anything makes me sell the 90 it will be the total lack of decent Land Rover specialists.

doh  :(   take it yours isn't going to be running this for this weekend then! Mine totally gave in this morning on the A45 into Wellingborough (just limped home at 10mph) so going to be a fun night trying to source the problem, and a hectic day putting it back together tomorrow.

I use a garage locally in Northampton, and though he doesn't specialise in Landrovers, he has worked on a far few including mine...  - I got quoted £80 - for a few simple jobs.

However, due it being an old Landrover (every bolt had rusted and he ended up having to take wings off etc) it took him 3 days... he still only charged me £80.

If you want his details I can PM them to you, not sure of the protocol here.

I went there on my way to the LRO show and result is MOT'd Land Rover that will be picked up in the morninig on the way to the show.

Vam,

PM me with the Northampton name. Although slow, this guy has done a good job but Northampton would be much closer for me.
