Bronco Tyres .............new post..
« on: August 13, 2006, 20:05:29 »
This is a copy of an Email I have recieved 12/08/06 .As some will know I have had problems with this company and it seems Iam not alone..........
PLEASE IF YOU WISH TO COMMENT  no  slander, or abusive remarks we are only intersted in facts.......The comment reference the factory closing is I believe the factory that makes the tyres and not Bronco, I will clarify this tomorrow when I contact the manufacturer.........

Hi Jas,

This was posted on the GLASS forum.

Just a quick line for any of you who have, or were thinking of ordering from Bronco Tyres.

I had a new Grizzly Claw de-laminate on me at 40 mph, chucked a lug and shows sign of extensive de-lamination. I called Bronco tyres and sent pics of the damage. After another barrage of emails and calls (none of these were answered) I finally got offered a slight discount on two tyres, but no replacement for the faulty one  . I was assured they were in stock and would arrive 3 days later.....

That was a month ago! Having chased them up 2 weeks ago, I was told that there was a 2 weeks delay.....

Now I'm told that the factory has gone into receivership and that they are moving the moulds and presses to another location, no idea on when tyres are available......

So having sent a considerable amount of money down the river I'm stuck with 3 decent tyres and another I would use with care off road under duress but no spare and no time scale for delivery. All I can say is use caution if you are considering purchasing from Bronco Tyres at this time, I Hope they sort themselves out soon, until then I wish I had sold the set on EBay and got some Recip's

I have pointed Andrew towards you posts on Mud Club.

Regards ********

doesnt sound brilliant, i've got bronco at's on the zuk and so far not had any problems apart from punctures in 3 out of 4 of em  , i guess theres a lot less stress on an at tyre than a grizzly though.

That is the problem with remoulds.

Just a shame new tyres cost so blooming much.  2 years on and my simex are looking wrecked!

Mind you, I have abused them

I dont know if you guys remember but i bought 5 Silverstone extremes
last December.. two split on the outer walls (And they arent remoulds!!!!)One was my spare and never touched tarmac or mud..The other split well within 60 miles..It took me 6 mths before i got two replaced..I kept getting told they were none in the country..But they still advertised them in every 4x4 mag..I will not be buying from Bronco or silverstone again..The P#ss off for me was that Liz at Devon 4x4 had offered me a good deal on a set of Simex but i thought i would try out the new Silverstones...AAAHHHHHH!!!!

Well...........i had 5 knobles fly off on the road(aprox 50mph) to an off road site..........contacted bronco and they asked for photo's.........sent them and within a week i had a brand new tyre...........and they didnt want the old one back.
So i am pleased with them and still use them both on and off road.

http://www.technictyre.sagenet.co.uk/ this is the company that used to make the tyres , I phoned them monday and was told that That they are  still trading, Asked again today they are trading but are in Administration ,but hope to come out the other side. This current situation has not been caused by Bronco (according to Tech Nic) , as for the moulds for the tyres they were collected yesterday without any court action........so maybe the BoyZ @ Bronco get a little confused at times

Seems like Bronco never quite get their quality control right. Over the years there have been several occasions when there have been safety soncerns over their tyres and then poor souls having to lose money due to evasive customer complaint tactics.
I used 235/85/16 Dirt Devils on the original catflap. The soft compound makes them an excellent off-road tyre, and when the first 4 got down to 8mm or so - I bought another set. Before the tyres were half worn - they started to crack alarmingly, and so badly that back then I posted this picture on what was then the LRE website. Problems like this were commonplace, and i would have thought that things would have improved - is this not the case?

Whilst I don't want to get drawn into questions of suitability or bullying, you'd have thought that a legal team would understand the difference between "our" and "are" ...

hmm :)
