hi anyone know if a serpintine belt like they have on a 300tdi/td5 disco engines can it be fitted to a 200tdi and what would be involved .regards colin

you would need to replace the alternator, power steering and waterpump as the pulleys would be for a v belt. you would also need to fit the tensioner somehow.
The question is, why??????

:roll: maybe i should get a bigger alternator seem to be cheewing alot belts at the moment its driving me mad :(mad):ive got a 100amp alternator on at moment running twin batteries  think its the lights i fitted !
  2x100w front grill 2x100w top rack +2x55wtop rack +4x 55w fogs on bar thats 730 w i run my batteries in parralell any help anyone here

Suspect the problem is more like alternater bearing or pulley mis-allignment....?

yup would be a good place to start

i have a 65A alternator running the winch,6x100W spots on the front,2x 100W reversing lights & all of one 120APH battery
