The recent release was neither.
It was simply a remake, with a new cast

The 2 previous (original) cast films were also simply sequels
The first one,' Hazzard Homecoming' was set after Daisy, Bo & Luke had gone on to other things
Roscoe was 'Boss', as Sorrell Booke had died a few years prior.
Denver Pyle had cancer, but still finished the filming.
Ben Jones (Cooter) was a Congressman (as he was in real life for a while)
Enus was in the LAPD

The second film;
'Hazzard In Hollywood' was a 'road-trip' with the Dukes on the trail of stolen tapes of all the artits that had played in the Boars Nest

I reckon they're both a damn site better than the 2005 version
Richard A Thackeray
Defender 110Td5 'Heritage Gone, but not forgotten
Jaguar XKR; X88 JLT, also 'gone, but not forgotten'

Yorkshire Born & Bred, and proud of it.

They'll never remake a classic it'sone of those things I think - it's not just the fact of what it was it is about it's also where you were in life at that time - I remember classic things fondly not just for what they were but for how they made me feel at the time and it's that bit they'll never recapture.

But it made me chuckle once or twice so its ok by me  :lol:  :lol:  :lol:
Way back then - life crawled out of the mud, then it decided life was better and crawled back in!
