Just returned from three-days in the New Forest and eight-days on the Isle of Wight.
The first three-days were spent with tree magnet and wany mifes doing beach things and some local BOAT's.
Could only find half-a-dozen around the New Forest area and these were well used, non damaging.
Tree magnet had to go home from the Wednesday, so wany mifes and us continued on to the Isle.
Again, much the much with doing beach things, along with doing some of the local attractions.
Completed the whole of the Tennyson Trail, spread over two trips.
Trip one was from Brook to Freshwater (East to West) with no problems encountered.
Trip two was from Brook (West to East). Whilst going up through the forest section, we were being followed by an in-breed throw-back to the Beach Boys days.... He was driving a four track, complete with surf board and two teenagers sitting on the bonnet (muppet).
We could see that he wanted to pass, but being in the forest there was nowhere to get pass. We came to the end of the forest into ploughed and planted fields.
The in-breed did no more than drive off the trail, straight through the field and back onto the trail.
Alas, sad news...., as he bounced back onto the trail, the young man sitting on the bonnet fell off....., the sad news is he didn't break his neck or anything.
By this time, the in-breed must have been aware that we were a little miffed and took off at high speed (40 mph +), we continued after him at low speed. In-breed came across a gate and the young man jumped off the bonnet to open it. He only opened it a few feet and as we were getting closer to him, the in-breed did no more than ram the gate causing damage.
The really good news is that his details have been passed to the police for further action :(biggrin):
I can see now why this trail is being closed, but unless its policed, brain dead in-breeds will continue to use and abuse :(
Wany mifes and I completed a few more lanes around the Isle. BBB (Big Boy Blue) did suffer some battle scars along the way from branches, etc, but no major panel modifications.
Pictures are in my gallery.
