please could anyone help with this problem.cant select high or low range on my disco was running fine until fell out of high range and will only go in diff lock had s.hand g.box in 3 wks when its in high range its as if the gear is not engaged ang make a funny noise could the transfer box linkage need ajusting need it for next week  for holiday or do i need new transfer box   :(

dont sound good but your've got to check out the linkage first. even disconect it and work it with mole grips or something .then it eliminates linkage set up. good luck. alan.....

a common fault on all lt230 tranny box's is that inside the selector housing, where the actuator arm join's onto the selector shaft, there is a little grub screw, and it has a nast habbit of working itself loose and thus allowing the arm to spin on the shaft, if no joy with the linkage take the cover off on the top of the transfer box where the linkage goes to and have a looky,
post a reply if no joy with linkage and i will post some pics of the housing which you need take off

interesting that, i have a clicking when i 1st take up drive. iff i hold the high/low lever i can feel it knock back through the lever. wonder iff it could be this prob ?. alan.....
