Boot floor replacement
« on: August 20, 2006, 20:18:18 »
well that wasn't so hard after all, just time consuming.

I've just replaced the floor in (muddy)James's 300 tdi Disco.  Pretty much all the edges had gone.  I got James to get a replacement floor from Paddocks but a word of warning - it doesn't have the same reinforcements as the originals.  Also if the floor has gone you may also need to replace the two extra support brackets - one had gone on James's car which I'm hoping a replacement can be found else I guess I'll be making one sometime soon!

If you do need to do it and want some pointers, let me know.

Matt

where's the common faults section?

I'd be tempted to make a new flange with a piece of thin angle or just make your own, however if it's gone that bad, it might mean problems elsewhere.

If you're passing and you're not a welder I'm happy to do it for you :)
