Has the HD been formatted or have the pictures simply been deleted into the 'Recycle Bin' and then deleted?

There is a difference and it is much simpler to recover deleted data from the 'Recycle Bin' than from a formatted HD, in fact Norton has recovery software than can do the job within minutes.

The easiest way to get data from a disk that’s ACTUALLY been formatted is to either buy(beg/borrow/steal/download) the right software to recover it OR call around and find a company local that will do it, usual charges are between £10 and £40 depending on how much work needs to be put into the recovery.

Been in the trade for nearly 12 years and seen and heard it done too many times and stupidly enough been there done that too and I really should know better.

Not sure I have helped but I do hope you manage to sort it out, only sorry i couldn't help more.

Yes its possible, software ranges from free to expensive and as usual from absolute crap to bloody amasing.

To get a company to do it, well, dependa who you are, what the data is, how damaged t is etc but proces range from 50 upto many thousands.

I've delt with one recovery for a client that cost nearly 5K once done but it was vital everything came back and it was a little more than just a reformat that did the damage!!
