Speedo round clock?
« on: August 24, 2006, 12:30:50 »
Is there any good way of finding out whether the speedo has gone round the clock? Reason is, my 1981 S3 reads 44k, which initially I thought was 144 or even 244. However, looking at old MOTs (got them back to 1994), she's been averaging about 800 miles a year!

Sounds about right, they were mainly not for high mileage, even the ex mil ones

Lot of them used by the farmers to market once a week touch and around the fields after

sometimes you can tell of the digits are slightly out of line, but by having the past mot's its the best way of looking at, you could check the engine number to see if it agrees witht he log book, (if they have it in)

Not every problem can be solved with duct tape, and it's exactly for those situations we have WD 40
