Hi from Bulgaria
« on: August 28, 2006, 10:30:40 »
Quick hello from Bulgaria, the land of poor people   where RR supercharged, D3's, and every other supercar you can think of are more common than the old Fiat 124

Drink's cheap, weather's hot and food is great. There's a Jeep Safari that goes off into the hills, but they don't come back too muddy so I think I'll wait till I get back to Blighty before venturing off-road. Great place to visit even if it is a little like Miami  8)

Hi Wendy,

I'm still here   fly back on Friday afternoon and till then I'll keep the alcohol level on full. We've had a thunder storm this morning so I'm making use of the hotel's internet cafe. Now the sun is coming out I'll be back by the pool. Hard life ain't it

See you soon

Well back to UK life and UK tax. If anyone goes to Sunny Beach, Bulgaria then the place to eat is James Joyce, excellent service and big meals for little money. Then pop up the road to the Condor Bar, 24 hour drinking and Vodka at 50p for half a tumbler, cocktails £1, pint of beer 40p  :(bloodshot):  :(contented):

More 4x4's than you can shake a stick at  8) LR, RR, Porsche, VW and BMW seem to be the favourites, not many Japs, although I did snap a Romanian L200 that was kitted up  8)

Picture attached of the local hairdresser's car

Loved it  8) Hotel was nice but staff seemed a little rude and unhelpful, could be the language barrier. After the first week we got used to the hard sell of the bar staff and fruit sellers    Second week was great although the last two nights got cool.

Most the flash motors were owned by young men and really pretty ladies   Did see a few gypsies, proper ones, not the type that tarmac drives

Found myself walking to Nessebar every other day and paying 70 stinkies to get home on the bus. Yes they really do call their pennies stinkies   and was the but of many a joke

You going to live out there Bob or rent out your home? Did look at the property market out there, some homes starting from a little over £3k  8)

It's a great place for a relaxing holiday, they won't even let you go to the bar   Most places are friendly especially on the seafront. If you like dance music you'll be in for a treat as it's played everywhere, a bit like Ibiza without the trouble. We took a grand in spending money for the fortnight, ate out every day, bought clothes, shoes, watches, etc and still came back with £500  :D

Most the new apartments are built the same    I think they need some english brickies out there. Just up the coast from Sunny Beach is a place called St. Vlas where they are building new places, but all around the area it looks like fly tipper's paradise. Should look nice when its finished if the marine homes are anything to go by.
