i know some one who is having a spot of bother with there disco difflock! it  was put into difflock but wont come out again! the gear leaver is out of the difflock position but it is still in difflock! has any one got any ideas what might have caused this and better still how to fix it??

are you sure its stuck in difflock or is the light just staying on  with the swith sticking.   joe

he has tryed reversing and going forewards but still not coming out! apparently it is deffinatly on he says he can feel it round corners ect!!! im stumped!

Chock the wheels - WITH GOOD CHOCKS, handbrake off and jack up a rear wheel. BE VERY CAREFUL as the wheel will spin and release the tension on the driveline - this should extinguish the light as well....

LEVEL GROUND and USE CHOCKS!

The difflock lever may be moving, but is the internal linkage :?:

Get underneath and check that the lot moves when the lever is moved side to side. It could be that the linkage has come undone (it happened to me).

and its happend to me, stupid land rover clips, y cuddnt they just use a r clip or cotter pin doh !!
o and it woul have happend when trug was down visiting and i took him to a local wood with alot of mud  :oops:
he got stuck 1st !!

A safer way of doing the same would be to find a patch of grass or gravel, that should be enough for it to unwind.
