As long as the second hand  head is good , then the unleaded bit will save you money . I have a gas flowed unleaded head ( I forget exactly ) . There is only so much you can do with a Landrover 2 1/4 petrol engine . I guess what I am saying is , I have not noticed a great deal of difference in performance from standard . I have had no side effects . :)

If the head needs changing, then it makes sense. But if it doesn't, then seats in the current head are likely gonna be about as hard as they'll get (thats the beauty of cast iron heads) so won't be overly bothered by unleaded fuel.

cheers

How do you tell if you've got a turners head? and what do both the turners head and the gas flowed one look like?

Cheers

Have a turner performance head on my 2.25. :D
Its finished in black paint to a very high standard.
Has a Serial number stamped on it.
And has a heat sensitive warranty sticker on it.

Hope that helps

Mine is the same as that, it is a Stage 1 unleaded head, nice bit of kit but cant really vouch for any performance gains as the old head was knackered!
