Yeah, and from my past experience with Bronco Amazons (same pattern as Machos), if you like travelling at more than 55 mph (without being shaken to bits) then I'd go for new tyres over remoulds every time :)

The Amazon was the same pattern as the Macho, and I had a set of Greenway Machos on my old Bobtail that weren't a whole lot better at speed, though to be fair that could have been the Bobtail, I never did run it on expensive tyres!Clearly it wasn't the pattern that was the problem (it is, after all, based on the Yokohama Geolandar M/T) - my point was simply that they were remoulds, and they weren't very stable at speed. IMHO the problem with remoulds is that you simply can't always be sure of the quality. In my case, replacing the tyres with Pirellis cured my wheel vibration problems.
