how green can we get
they can run on veg oil
they last for longer before they die
some over 40 years so you dont need a new car every few years
you can recycle most parts as most are interchangable

so what else have they got

Mine's blue, and responsible for the deaths of thousands in insects every year, and a fair few feathered and fluffy animals as well.

Yep.  I'm going to Greenpeace hell.  Where I'll be forced to eat salad all day, wear grey socks with sandals, and throw away anything remotely connected to personal hygiene and soap.  All I can look forward to is those "special" days when I'll get the chance to wear the communal DOC Bum bag.

And grow a beard, drink cheap French wine, wear a cardigan, sing the praises of the 2cv, and learn the words to ' we shall not be moved '... oh, and best learn the accoustic guitar and how to smoke a pipe...

mind you.. you would get to drink lots of real ale...

Ah, a man after my own heart! Had one for several years and absolutely loved it. It just couldn't cope with the 15,000 miles a year I was doing at the time.

Actually, there was a huge backlash against the 2CV after the 'hippy' image it gained in the '70's. Despite it's 602cc engine (the biggest and most powerful version!) it would only manage around 40mpg when driven at modern traffic speeds. But you could do 70mph all day and still return 40mpg. You can't say that of many modern small cars.
