just been contacted by the fella off ebay who sells the lightbars ,well i bought one a fortnight ago with pay now ,im not having a rant at him :lol: a nice fella by the sounds of it ,but i am at the delivery company

apparently they have tried to deliver to me 5 times

well how come ive had no card through the door saying they had tried ...its easy pen to paper stick through door ,i see paper read paper and call ..arrange a time i will be in ,take parcel ,everyone happy

i now have to pay another Ã‚Â£7 to have it delivered

i contacted %$%^ and they are going to investigate :roll: yea right :!: :!:

Matt, dont they have to prove they have attemted delivery :?: , who are the delivery people :?: ,had my light bar of the same people as you know the brackets for the slider's had to be sent after by post & there was a bit of dispute at the posting depot that held mine up, as you say nice chap even sent my change in the parcel, so honest as well,

Hurry up & get that bar on L2B is close :lol:

well what little hair i had has now completley gone .just got off the phone to parcel company ,who said that their drivers dont always carry cards,to inform customers of deliveries,they blamed the sender for not informing me that the item had been shipped,i argued this as if they had put a note through the door ,i would have stayed in ,or gone and collected it from the depot as i have done before in the past(different parcel company).......... all i know at the end of this is im going to have to foot the bill to have it reposted ...it makes me soooooo angry

what parcel company is this please as i want to make sure i never use them!
it is so frustrating when carriers let you down plus some people do take it out on the supplier eventhough they have done nothing wrong, as in your case!

Have you let the supplier know of your problems, he may be a nice man but at the end of the day it was them who chose to use the delivery company. They need to know if only to change delivery agents in future, they may also be able to put some pressure on. YouÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ll have to let me know who the suppliers are so I don't use them until theyÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ve changed the delivery company. Spence, can you pm me with your price for disco 1 rock sliders please.

its being delivered on monday now .but the parcel company didnt even tell the chap sending the parcel that it couldnt be delivered ,as they should have.. he has been very good about this and recognises that its the parcel companies unproffesional conduct ,he has decided to send it again at his own cost :? but i feel the parcel company should have sent it for free this time

a parcel lottery id say.. will i get my parcel or wil it get sent back

My wife ordered some stuff for her business from a supplier who is less than 10 miles away. It was sent via a well known company with a name that has 3 letters in it.

Came home to a card through the door. Rang said company and spent an age on hold so decided to drive to the depot 7 miles away.

Waited for an hour whilst they looked and couldn't find the package and they said that it must still be on the truck so I arranged to collect it the following morning.

Before I got there another card was pushed through the door saying that they had tried to deliver it again and it would now be returned to sender.

At this point I went to the depot again and asked rather bluntly to speak to the duty manager, my wife in the meantime was on the phone to the customer service desk to be told that the parcel had been delivered. To whom she asked and was told to knock on every door on the street to get her parcel as it would have been delivered to our next door neighbours, we only have one and they were on holiday!

So when I spoke to the manager who couldn't tell me where it had been delivered too, but went off to investigate coming back and telling me the address on a different street! The manager was really good and in the end we were able to track down the package, he even phoned later that day to make sure that we had received it. You could feel him go pale when I told him the box was damaged and wet, fortunately the contents were alright.

Anyway having paid for delivery, then had to visit the depot twice and then walk up and down the street to find the parcel we were not impressed and now advise anyone sending stuff to us that we do accept this company as a carrier.

As far as my wife's business we now collect and save the postage.

this parcel carrier has 3 letters too ,i didnt get the luxery of a card through the door though ,if i had, i would now have my lightbar bolted up and working ,instead of sitting here ranting :lol:

Well i use DHL (can name the company cos i aint saying owt bad) and they are pretty good. I get a parcel from them once a week, we pay for the 2-3 day service and it always comes next day. They generally call first thing in the morning when i am in bed but they have always left it with a neighbour and put a card through the door.

ANC have been the same so far with the stuff i have bought from Paddocks.

Only one i had a problem with was UPS who couldnt find the street on their atlas!

Bit stumped as to why you cannot name the carrier?

I use several different carriers for my business, right from hauliers of containers down to small carriers as you have already mentioned, in my experience the only difference between them all is the amount and the way in which they f*ck things up, none of them are 100%

But.....By far the worst of all companies are UPS, overpriced, incompetent, over confident tossers.

The common denominator in all the problems that I suffer is that of miscommunication or total lack thereof.

id rather not on the forum ,

but im quite happy to pm the name ,i like mud club and me slagging off a company could cause the club some grief, as it has in the past , my main argument is ..how come a well established parcel company tries to deliver a parcel 5 times and not have the common sense to post a note through the door :?: it beggers belief ..if i'd known they had been id have stayed in to receive it :roll:

Aha, now i know :D

I had a problem with DHL before the MCBB3 meet. Bought me turbo from a breaker in Sussex, he got it all packaged for DHL to turn up to collect it and they never turned up. So all hell was broken loose the next morning, credit to the fella he took the parcel down to the depot just in case he could make it go quicker cos i thought i needed it urgently. Anyhow after long phone calls with customer services who kept on telling me that there was nothing they could do, their hands were tied, i contacted the branch manager of the branch that was supposed to collect it. He looked into it, saw i had done nowt wrong in fact had done everything right, it was just a driver who didnt want to do overtime, he refunded me the money i spent on the service (about Ã‚Â£35) and put it on the guaranteed next day pre 9am service. If i had been out of bed before 11am on the particular morning and complained before then it would have come same day!

So they arent all bad, if they f**k up lol

i think a lot of it is down to the particular delivery driver you get on your route.

I know that the UPS guy who delivers here is great. always comes between 4:30 and 5:30. is friendly and will give you time to come answer the door or will wander round into the back garden and find you if you dont hear it.

Ive also had trouble with an item that got sent back to the sender after 5 failed delivery attempts and me getting no cards or calls and then they tried to charge me again.
I had a go at the sender and they looked at the parcel to find that it had actually been addressed wrong (there was a line missing - apparently the parcel companies mistake) so the delivery attempts had been to the wrong house!

A lot of them get extra payments if they make 'failed deliveries' so it's in their interests to have to visit your house more often...

Another fine example of corporate incompetence unfortunately. It's a rare thing nowadays to find a company that actually does what it's supposed to, and does it properly.

I'm looking for light bar but don't want any hastle with delivery - at work during the day so in the past have ususlly had to go and collect from a local delivery office - pm me if you don't want to state on forum please

In terms of light bar - I've spoken to a friend who has a bar with 4 - 6" round lights he feels the brackets are a bit flimsy - sorry don't know which make - any feedback from you guys with lights -

i got my lightbar from exmoor who are a very good company ,good communication and understood that i didnt deliberatly miss the deliveries,we both contacted the parcel company ,but i think he has made a few changes to his delivery policy now so no cockups happen again :lol:
