Hi, has anyone every tried to change the small ends (con rod) on a defender 200tdi ,and found the new ones to be to small for the gudgeon pin .They are britpart .

Hence why lately my local main dealer is getting more and more of my business... and some of the stuff is even cheaper than the aftermarket people.

Not saying that this 'is' the problem though....

Point taken ,but something not right here somehow, pin should go in unless i am supposed to ream them out.

Are the drifted slightly so will only fit one end?

I'm presuming you have already tried that, you could always warm the necessary part up in boiling water to expand them slightly

Right found out today that they have to be reamed out so will do that at work tom ,bummer really !
