Gear Selection Help
« on: October 06, 2006, 18:54:28 »
  yet again the disco has broken down    tonight on the way home from work its very hard to select a gear infact the best way to describe it would be as if the gear lever has moved over to the left by about 3 inches it sticks in 5th and reverse is almost impossible to get back into neutral from...

The was no signs of this going to happen no funny noises or anything just got in it at work and drove to the moulton park roundabout where upon i cant get a gear

plz can someone make my day by saying this is a easy fix..  :?

OK,

IT'S AN EASY FIX :D

(sorry, somebody had to do it   )

It sounds like it might be just the connections between gearbox and the lever (hopefully).

Somebody will know I'm sure

i beleive that it is the fixing bolts  in thee linkage or the bushes. i had almost the same problem with mine except not able to engage any gear or drive!!   took all of two hours to fix and at the cost of ............wait for it....................................................getting there...........the cost of a drop of thred lock :(biggrin):  :(biggrin):  :(biggrin): you can gain access to the top of the box by removing the gearbox cover it is held in place with rivets that need to be removed.. its under the center consol ( errr thats obvious why did i say that??) hope that you get it sorted

and they say this is ment to be fun :(biglaugh):
