Oh gosh.....what a day!
« on: October 09, 2006, 18:33:17 »
Up early to get Bagheera to Coventry to get the PTI module updated (software) and the Venture Cam charging finally done.

Tootle up there, get the courtesy car. I asked for an auto. I got a manual. I asked for something bigger than a Freelander, I got a Freelander. Ho hum. It has no diesel (Grrr.....it's a diesel). So .. off I pop to get some, and trundle down the M1.

M1 stops. "Darn!" thinks I and starts wishing the car had a GPS, or a map! While I am being bemused by my knee locking up while trying to operate the third peddle I notice a loud rumble. I look around and decide the loud rumble is in fact...the Freelander :(

I pull off the motorway to find a totally flat tyre. Some 45 minutes of swearing and cursing the stupid inefficient jack I am on my way again.

Get to work at 11.30am...oh dear. Do some work and then leave at 4 to go and get Bagheera. Trundling up the mtorway I look at fuel guage. Fine - got loads. 10 minutes later someone obviously syphoned it all away. I reckon it limped in on fumes to the service at junction 4......

See if we can guess which of the two jobs they had not done?

Go on. Guess.

Well.....

Neither. They had to order a new Venture Cam and get this, the PTI module refused to take the upgrade, so it's broken now and they have to get me a new one.

End result? 2 trips to Boventry and back, a nice clean Bagheera (they did the inside for a change!), no Venture Cam and now I have no bluetooth either, and the car won't charge my phone :( So I am in fact worse off!

I am not a happy bunny.

They do pick and deliver, that would save you the M1 journey.

I always had Moneypit collected and taken to the stealers, with a courtesy car delivered as well.

Now I don't have Land Rover Assist and she goes to a garage just round the corner!
Sometimes you need to get away from the crowd, the only way to do that, is to get a little mud on the tyres.
