Hi John - sounds nasty, at least you got off "lightly", next time I bet you'll be wearing your harness.

Not been in a roll, but have fractured my ribs doing Muay Thai (Thai Boxing) when I was younger.  It's like having a knife permanently in your side, which takes you to the floor when it decides to remind you of your stupidity.

Oh yeah - I am at work.  "Group ICT Manager" means I get to drop in and out of my favourite forums, without it appearing on the web logs.

Get well soon mate.

Good fun busted ribs eh!!!!

Weird, both Bulli and myself have suffered the same fate, couple of broken ribs, both while practising Muay Thai.

I guess it should have a safety warning.

More importantly, how the truck...
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

Did it with a mates ford ranger. Sat there upside down for a good few minutes, laughing and trying to work out how to get out of the belts without injuring ourselves on the glass etc. Hit black ise at speed on a road in Canda, just went into the median and keeled over.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

apart from the repairs you may want to invest in a remember your seat belt sticker.
Joking apart though glad to hear its not a major injury (ok you know what I mean it could of been a lot worse)hope you make a speedy recovery

Get a light

Then we'll take bets on how long it takes you to rip it out :)

Audi had that once, would get in, start it up and Ding Ding Ding...

Two days after I got it it had an accident with some wire cutters.

Good to hear it wasn't major - and that you are getting better.

I have been there before myself numerous times - used to play alot of Rugby - broke/dislocated ribs on 5 different ocassions one season, which was due to the weakening of the muscles / tendons etc that hold the ribs in place, after a largish chest operation - had to give up playing on the advice of the Docs, said I would end up puncturing a lung or worse. Still miss it immensely - Rugby best game in the world - "Rugby; a game for hooligans played by gentlemen" compared to Football, a game for gentlemen played by hooligans.

Hoping you feel better soon and back on the sauce!!
