Does anyone know, or know of someone who knows someone that has had a substantial win on the lottery? I was pondering this today at work, what with the triple roll over this weekend, that the lottery has been going for 10+ years and yet i've never heard anyone mention they know of someone who has won.

I'd imagine that with two draws a week over 10+ years i'd of possibly heard of a winner by know !

and no i'm not after a loan !

There's a £9 million winner about a couple of miles away.
You wouldn't know just by looking - they live just the same as they did before.

I know (or did know) a couple that got 5 plus bonus in the very first draw (or the 2nd not sure). £250 000. They bought thier council house, blew the rest and then lost their house to the repo men a year later.

I used to work with a guy who's cousin won big.
2 million big
She was still quite young and naive when she won.
The boyfreind at the time (cheating g*t) took half and left.
She did the right thing with the rest though.
She brought property (10 years ago, must be worth a fortune now) and looked after her family.
Thats the closest i've every got to a winner.
I still live in hope.

My sisters mates dad won.  Lives abroad now from what I hear.

There is a big winner from the scratch cards too in Hinckley.  He still runs his shoe repair business too.

One of my previous ships we had a passenger on a world cruise who got a decent win. £10 100 000

He was a painter for the local council, worked his months notice and gave up.
He also brought the car he had dreamed of; a top of the range all bells and whistles Ford Mondeo.

Really nice guy actually.

I've won £10 three times which is quite substantial considering I manage to get no numbers drawn most weeks
