« on: October 30, 2006, 17:23:17 »
have a few questions so rather then spam the boards thought id just put them all in here....

n/s/r wheel bearing has got noisey and has slight play dont have a haynes yet so any advice/tips on how to adjust up?

what engine oil is recomended for 300tdi? and how much does it take?

what oil is in the axels, transfer and gear boxes again how much in each?

also noticed my fan belt is cracking and could do with replaceing.. if i was to remove the fan and fit an electric fan kit is there anothe belt that is obviously smaller that would be correct to fit?

cheers for any advice/help you have.

thanks Ric.

Engine oil,a good 10W40 or 15w40
It takes 7 litres which wil put it on the mark on the dipstick (well should do)

Oils for axles & Tbox is EP90,Oil for gearbox is MTF94 or at a push ATF Dex3 will do,

in regards to fitting a lecky fan, bash on but it will still use the same belt as the current one as you need that pulley

Nip over to www.lrtech.co.uk  Go to the Defender board.
There's a post on wheel bearings that could help you to adjust the bearings, also there's one on servicing that you might like to read.
