Has anyone fitted an electric fan to their discovery?

What size fan did you use, what was the donor vehicle etc?

Do i need a push or pull type?

Did you wire it direct to a switch inside the car or what?

My own thoughts are i'd need a fan about 14" diameter and wire it to a simple on off switch inside the car.

Any thoughts and suggestions gratefully recieved.

Its on the list for my disco as well but I never actaully get around to it.  Mainly because something always seems to break and need replacing before I get a chance to fit things for the hell of it!

Im running a pair of pacet 14" "suckers" controlled by inline thermostat and manual override, never has a problem , even in middl eof our blazing summer,p.s its a 3.5 V8 disco,

 I would personally not reccomend the adjustable controllers with the capillary tube kinda thing, as  soon as they get a good dose of mud/water they pack up,( in my experience)
TD5 with a few Tweaks ;o)
a bit more fuel friendly than the V8

 What he said! I have a pair of Pacet 14" Pushers on my Disco 3.5V8. Much better than the viscous fan but that adjustable controller that came with the kit is useless when it gets wet/muddy. Flattened my battery a couple of times and annoyed the nieghbours when the fans stay on all night!

On Blue I used a probe type from Merlin motorsport.  You adjust it by moving it further down the radiator core :wink:

Typicalluy a pair of 13" Kenlowes or 12" Pacets are recomended for a V8 and a single 16" for a TDi.

Suckers are a no-brainer if you have air-conn
Blowers can help avaoid throwing muck around the engine bay.

Either works though.
