We seem to be getting quite a few people joining the club-to enable a FREE! Addvertisment in the FOR SALE section, isnt it time we had a minimum amount of posts before a person can place adds?
we dont see the persons ever posting again once the add appears,
or the item is SOLD

I noticed only 1 person who was like that in the first page of for sale stuff, and he is still online now somewhere reading stuff.

Everyone has to start somewhere, maybe they dont feel comfortable posting in with all the banter that goes on here and just want to sell their motor.

The only restriction we put on advertising is that it isn't commercial.  If a new member posts an ad and gets a reponse, then that might be the catalyst for them to become an active member of the club.    The other thing is that until they register, they don't see things like the events section... so if we take away an incentive for them to sign up (i.e. to post an advert) then they might never get to see what else the club gets up to.

I'm new to the site, but tend to agree. This is not a free advertising site, we all need to put in before we can take out!

The problem with having so many posts before you can sell some thing, is that you will get some just posting spam to get their post count up.

Look on the bright side though, you as a member may see an item for sale at a good price and you may want it.
You have access to it immediately, sales cut both ways.

I found that on another forum I needed 10 posts so I just said hello to 10 new members - I haven't been on there much since
