Steering damper relocation

Anybody have one of these steering damper relocation kits?  Several makes available, all the way from the fairly basic Wizardbilt to the super slick Equipe.  Any personal experience?  Recommendations?

Also, why does Land Rover put the steering damper in such a vulnerable location to begin with?

Another option is a guard that goes round the trackrod and the damper, Scorpion Racing make one and I'm sure the are others around.

I've done it to mine, I used the steering guard as a bracket (though it can limit travel a bit) and fitted a Defender drag link and damper, you have to be very careful using a RRC damper ahead of the axle as the front drag link moves further and the damper is only just long enough without any articulation.

Anyway, I've done it and I'm thinking of undoing it, the front D.S wheel flaps a little sometimes on roundabouts and suchlike.  The best I've had it handle was with an old RRC damper on as well

Do you ever not put other people down regarding the products they sell?
  Do you do a damper relocation kit?

I have "wizards" one and its excellent.

I have given it some serious abuse and not had any problems.

I have helped set out the Welsh Hill Rally with it on, anything from a trundle over a rough bit to fullchat around a stage and no issues.

a well made simple piece of kit.

redline you always seem to have a comment on something i have to say, if you do not like me for somereason, or if i have upset you in the past let me know how and why
i do not knock anyone, i can only comment on what i have seen, and as i have said, some of these kits are crap, and a lot of money, and to say check what your buying before you part with your money surely can only be good advise.
no i do not do a relocation kit, and probably will not be.
most people or companies, produce good equiptment and bits and pieces, they may be cheap they may be dear, if the product is fair enough, thats ok, but some items from some people are total crap and charging good money for it that is hard EARNED, i just dont want to see someone spending 80 or 90 quid on rubbish.
