It does nothing except holds my crisp bag wrappers. Any good things to do with this space? I don`t want one of them cubby box things cos I am a big lad and space is already at a premium in my truck cab pick up.

What do you reckon then.....?

Keep my Vodka in my flask in my pocket for security and if you saw my clothes a bin liner would be OK as a wardrobe....

Thanks for the offer Mat. I was thinking of a small box or tray where I can throw my tools and they wouldn`t roll about so much.

Would I be right in thinking that a cubby box would give me even less room for my big fat self. . ?

The later model Defenders featured a tray which may suit you.
Have a look on eBlag you may find some for sale, as owners swap for cubby boxes.

discovery cubby boxes are a lot smaller. and may still fit.

Some people put radios or CB radio in that position too.

Or put a subwoofer there.

Youll find quite a lot of space between the seats and a cubby (genuine LR or otherwise) its enough to put a 500ml bottly of coke, or 4 down the side. You should be ok as its about as much room between seats and cubby as seat and side of vehicle on other side.

i was going to make a rather substantial box that comes up to the level of the drivers seat, so if needed someone could still sit on it. it would be rather uncomfortable but it wont be me sitting on it so heyho.

it would only be about 6 inches deep, but thats enough to hold what i want.

where do you live? I have one of the plastic trays sitting outside somewhere. You can have to pick it up if you want.

Cubby boxes leave plenty of room still and if you get a lockable steel one there is somewhere safe to leave your tools.

Best is Mobile Storage Systems...
http://www.mobilestoragesystems.fsnet.co.uk/store-caddy.htm

but also most expensive at around 200 pounds. Look through any of the mags will show some cheaper alternatives, although in my opinion the MSS one is worth the extra.

Cheers
