Alloys on a 1990 110 CSW

What fit?

I've done a trawl and can't find any previous posts though I can't be the first to ask.

I know the down sides of alloys against steels but would still like to know regardless as I actually like the look.

I've seen an E reg locally with alloys but no centre caps, do any fit with centre caps?

I've got a set of Compmotive VS ones on my 90, 15" look OK and can do your basic summer green lane stuff, Steels will be on soon though ready for some real mud, here's a little look at them

Could do with some better nuts though

Yes alloys will fit a 110 but you need make sure that they are rated for a 110. The only LR ones are the Boost ones.

Boost 'and' Deepdish

Freestyle or any other Disco or RR Alloys are not.

But then you've got the problem of fitting alloys to a drum braked axle...
have a read here: http://www.web-rover.co.uk/nav.php?p=articles/alloys

Or the other option is run a set of wheel spacers (ideally hub centric steel ones!!) - with wheel spacers you won't have any interference issues, and you'll be able to run the plastic wheel centres.

Do you mean when you say rated as in they are rated for the 110's weight and carrying capacity?

And do the Boost and Deepdish fit without cracking open the tool chest?

I'm assuming I've got drums on the back.. I've yet to venture under the axle been too busy fixing topside stuff so far

Probably not... same rule apply as per the link I posted earlier.  Unless you fit a set of wheel spacers at the same time   (but get proper ones!!!)

Should have... disc brake rear axles are '94 onwards.

Not a very good picture of them but you can see the hub caps..

I was going to fit Boost alloys to my 1986 90 (disc-brake rear) but can't be bothered now. Replacing the 2-piece rear shafts wasn't a problem but as I didn't want the hub-caps sticking through on the front and I didn't want spacers the only solution was to rebuild/replace the front axle which once again wasn't a problem but it was a pain just to get some fancy alloys (only wanted the Boost, wasn't interested in any other alloy).
In the end I have decided to go for Mach-5's as they fit with the standard hubs, trouble is there is a long waiting list but hopefully there will soon be five winging their way to me.
ONE LIFE, GET IT!
