Rave & T4 on CD-Rom
« on: November 26, 2006, 20:21:11 »
just got rave and t4 off ebay. Can anybody shine a little light on the kind of kit I need to diagnose my 1997 RR. I have a laptop so I obviously need some kind of leads to connect the laptop to the car. Also this t4 on the cd, is this the software for reprogramming stuff or just diagnostics? I found a hand held one on a website that was about 90 quid and it did a load of other cars aswell. Can't find the wesite now but i'm sure it was "sea____" something.

The T4 CD isn't a lot of help with out the specialist hardware needed to run it.  It's not a simple lead, but several hundred quids worth of interface hardware.

hi andy

thanks for reply,

I thought it wasn't gonna be that easy. If you get chance have a look at this bit of kit, it says it can program as well as read faults, and it covers 1997 RR (ISO)

Buy Rovacom, it's about the only way you'll be able to do plug in diagnostics for under a grand.

It's pure OBD-II, so it will read and clear faults and change some basic engine and gearbox and settings, but that's all.  The don't cover ABS, SRS, BeCM, HeVAC, Cruise control, gearboxes.

Also take a look at http://www.diagnosticsolutionsuk.com/ for Rovacom - that's who I'd go to now since I'm no longer selling them.
