R&P Ratios info on a diesel
« on: November 30, 2006, 08:49:35 »
hello. I ve bought a LWB diesel vitara 1997 I/C 2.0L I reckon the diff ratio is about 4.62

anyone have any tech data to conifrm as cant be bothered to count the turns on the prop it too low to get under lol

Its not suppose to be a play thing but sneaked out laning and it needs a little lift.  gearing is fine at present infact it needs a set of 30s on it to get it doing 80 at 3000rpm.

but reason i ask is, it will be a easy mod to fit swb diffs at ratio 5:12 to gain a nice reduction if i want to fit bigger rubber at some point down the line,

well the ring and pinions on the diesel are 4:63 and of course there would be no trouble fitting 5:12's in the diffs.
you got a steel front axle as well.

just bung some 33's on it.
want modification bits for your suzuki.

I must say the diesel lwb comes with some nice features as standard
strut brace
mazda engine
steel axle casing
alternator fitted to top of engine

But its my work car at present going to do little lift and some rubber for now.

Tony you should get your self a LWB suzuki roof rack mate lol:-
