Whilst replying to a post eleswhere, I found this wonderful little self-depracting take on his auto-biography

It's a good book & a real take on growing up in 1950's America

Well worth reading..................... as is 'A Short History Of Nearly Everything'

(but the funniest book must be 'Notes From A Small Island', all about our eccentricities)

There, that's BTMs recommendation of the week

Quite an eye-opener his section on the Welbeck estate near here.  I tto have been 'asked to leave' but never knew why.

And the bit on US statistics, apparently I am twice as likely to be killed by my bedding in new England than shot.

Made me wanto go there.

If you shoot a burglarisator in Texas, the states PAYS you
