Shocking Price
« on: December 06, 2006, 13:56:19 »
Hi all,
We just had our parts 'go and getter' Mondeo fail it's MOT. Nothing major just bits and bobs. So on the phone we gets to start to price up the parts.    WOW have we had a shock on the price for a shock absorber rubber £25+VAT  . Was told that it's a Ford only part. Anyone got any ideas on a way around this? Tried the good old breakers yards they want £25 all in. This still feels a lot of beer tokens to me.

Have you tried Euro Car Parts?  Can't really believe it's a Ford only part.

I can, except they probably buy them in from abroad.  If not too many go then there's no market in them.  Your local factor might beat the counter price on a ford only part though.

Frightening thing is how little the car is worth.
