To the circular that LR sent out that's resulted in all these LR Experience' days that other people are partaking of

I did it yesterday in Bala, I was going as a guest the day my daughter was born so I wrote a really nice letter.

Drove the RR, weeks old and 54 grand worth, outstanding fun doing that through forestry tracks even if a bit nerveracking knowing what it's worth.

Don't miss the chance; when else would you drive something costing that much through a rough foresty track?

Well I did the LR Experience.  And it certainly was.

Starts off with a briefing from the instructor. I was lucky enough to have one-to-one!  Then he takes you outside and explains about the off road checks that you should do (Handy if you've never been off road before, like me)

Then we jumped into a 110 and he drove me to the play area!!  He gave me some demonstrations about failed stalls, cresting and slide slopping.

After that he gave me the keys and away we went!!

The scariest part is reversing over the hill you've just driven up.  IT goes against all your natural instincts.

Then the "incident" took place.  I had successfully slide slopped the 110, which is very unnatural.  We went round again and this time I had to go over a small crest, then turn full left lock into a hill, we had already done it earlier.

The wheels started spinning and the engine revving itself silly, then just as we thought it was about to grip........

........BANG.

We seem to have blown the diff-lock!!!!

We very gently drove back to the hotel area and contacted the centre who said they'd run another motor down for us to use for the afternoon.

And so they did.

A RANGE ROVER SPORT HSE!!!!!!

I was like the cat that got the mouse, the cream and the cheese.

Was the Automatic version, and I'd never before driven an auto, but by christ could that thing move.  It's off road performance is stunning, incredible and fantastic.

Will post some pics in a bit, plus a video!

Good luck with that.  What a job though?  Driving round all day in RRS, D3's and 110.

Here (hopefully) are the pics.

i found the sport a bit boring really, the Range rover ok, and the disco,is me favourite...the command shift a deelight....but what the 110 can do on road tyres is breath taking...i was driving all day with a big grin on me face, roll on JAN 16th..eastnor castle
