Presumably via email and nothing to do with MC??

Best thing to do is ark message as spam, that way you can set it to auto delete without any effort. You can also block emails from certain domains or IP ranges in most control panels, thats more dependant on who/what you use for email tho.

Spam mail isn't funny.  As the spam filters get cleverer, the spammers adjust how they do things the circumnavigate them.

At least I think its spam.  If it not then the wife has been mailing people about my "deficiencies".

If you can send me the mail address as a PM I'll check in to the origin and see if I get you a contact for their ISP.

Don't reply in kind with viruses etc, this is illegal - just as illegal as assaulting someone for shouting abuse in the street.

I was at a computer security event on Friday and learned that computer crime is now making more money than the illegal drugs industry - and involving the same nice, community minded folks.  It's certainly making enough money that Nigerian scamsters are able to send out actual physical letters with 0845 numbers to contact them to look more official and convincing.

You might want to check out something like mailinator for getting temporary addresses for registering in future.  http://www.mailinator.com

Forward me one of the emails, will pm you my email addy, just hit forward, dont edit anything. I still have a lot of contacts with Canadian IAPs so I might be able to get the ear for someone. Specially if its a Shaw or Telus address.

I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.
