ENGINE SWAP 410 TO 413 OR 8V VITARA
« on: December 09, 2006, 17:15:48 »
HI
REQUIRE SOME TECHNICAL ADVICE FROM SOMEONE WHOS DONE THIS CONVERSION
IF I FIT A 413 GEARBOX TO MY 410 TRANSFER BOX I COULD THEN FIT 413 ENGINE BY FABRICATING NEW ENGINE PLATES
OR..........
IF I FIT 413 GEARBOX TO MY 410 TRANSFER BOX AND BUY ADAPTOR I CAN FIT 8V VITARA AGAIN FABRICATING MY OWN ENGINE PLATES
DOES THIS ALL ADD UP BEFORE I START
MANY THANKS FOR ANY INFO RECIEVED

1st off wot speed is ur current 410 gearbox?
in theory it can be done if your goin to all the trouble of fitting a bigger engine you may as well fit the vitara lump basic dimentions as the 1.3 just longer bore strokes

in theory yes m8 no reason why not
conversion plate from rhinocentral will set ya back about 60 quid
vit engine anything between 100 and 300 for a good 8v carb'd motor
sammy gearbox 40 quid maybe
then just make up the engine mounts using the vitara ones if you can get them with some good thick plate to bolt to ur 410 engine mounts
410 t-case will be good for gearing upto 33" boots your axles are another matter might be worth upgrading them to sammy units if possible  :)

There are 2 write ups this week on the Suzuki section of Difflock.com (sorry to advertise another site) for both 8v and 16v swaps.
Rob Storr also does a full circle adaptor plate as well £45 http://www.rs-mfg.co.uk
