Can someone enlighten me as to what this oil leak is coming from is called? Is this a potential big job to fix? I'm guessing that the diff needs draining and then remove the axle end to replace the seal?

thats not an oil leak! you only need to worry when it leaves a little pool on the ground after standing for a couple of hours!

i would be slightly concerened by that as it appears to be leaking from between the chrom ball & the axle casing rather than the normal bit at the bottom of the chrome ball,
could be the bolts are loose or stretching

hehe u got a problem there, they dont usualy leak as mike said in another words
bolts might have stretched as he said, its very unlikely that they have come loose as they are complete and utter arses to undo in the first place
undo the ring of bolts and inspect and fit a new gastket
