That sequence only seems to work with the single button alarm system on 200tdi's and some 300's.
2-button alarms need to go on a testbook t4 machine to have fobs reprogrammed.

Many thanks to your replys. i have tryed that seq and it all work apart from the fobs. the horn sounds and the red light on the dash stays on. after when pressing the fob the door locks dont work nor dos the alarm arm. if i use the key in the door every think works regarding the alarm :?

But if you use the key the alarm isn't fully armed.  You did have an assistant help you, I cannot run round to the bonnet fast enough, I even tried a broom handle that I plulled away with a peice of string.

Cyberprog is correct....

What year is your Discovery???

If it's 1996 onwards then it will have a 10AS unit behind the dashboard that controls the alarm... this very different to  200 and early 300Tdi's.

The 2 fob alarm modules (that only work with a 10AS unit) can not be reprogrammed using the mentioned sequence and need to be done with diagnostic equipment.... and thus a visit to a local dealer/specialist.

However.... whereabouts are you in Yorkshire??

I'm at my girfriends parents over Christmas near Brigg (junc 4 of the M180)... if you fancied a drive I'll have my Rovacom Diagnostic Kit with me and could programme the fobs for you - for less than a dealer/specialist.

You can tell if your Disco has the later type alarm by either...
The fact it's 1996 or newer or if you look on the lower part of the dash (in front of you left knee if sat in the drivers seat) then you should see a rectangular plug (OBD11 Plug).
