The new type of military lenses (Flat type) are they a direct replacement for the old style glass ones? i.e Do they screw into the existing lens surrounds or do you have to replace the entire light??

No they are direct replacements, they should screw straight in, depending on any damage to the metalwork :wink:

Usually come up on flea bay, anchor have some in now ad again, or a mate in the forces could be useful :wink:

By new do you mean the plastic screw in types or the ones fitted to WOLF - those are the same as NAS type and they need the whole lamp unit to be changed.  I can have a look about, but they are getting rare nowadays, even at work as most kit now has more modern stuff fitted to it.
