i did it by putting a ring spanner on one of the other bolts and using that as a wedge for the socket to lean on while you undo it with a ratchet. then move along to next one.does that make sence? a bit had to explain without a pic
a 23 mm spanner and a whack with a mallet will get the viscous fan off, if i remember rightly its a left hand thread.
Tried that with a viscous hub spanner. the drive belt snapped so it just spins on itself. Can't see a way to lock it off. It's a bit in the way for changing the pump as is the fan cowling that wont come off without the fan coming off.
Use a thread locking compound on the screw threads
