Old Disco Dead - advice on next one please...

Dilemma:
Heart says 300 TDI manual 3 door.....but EARS say V8  :lol:

but I have just been offered (for money!) an abolutely solid 95 V8 3dr Auto - v nicely kept for £2.2k add £700 for LPG tanks in boot


Will be used for local short runs - will lift etc do arches - greenlane - play & break days

Views?  :?
V8 v 300tdi
Manual v Auto
DIZZY 2 - Disco 95 V8 3 dr  2" lift/arches cut/LPG/265/75 x 16 Macho's on peeling silver modulars/home made rock and tree sliders/ safari snorkel (not connected to airbox yet)
"Dizzy" - 95 300Tdi  Now just a chassis with a V5!
"kofi" - white 200 tdi Disco - to become pickup bobtail (one day!)
 "nelson" - silver 200tdi - SOLD!!! HURRAY!!

Aren't Diesels supposed to be better for wading, due to V8's electrics not liking water?

probably worth considering if that's something you plan on doing.

I think that wading (except where absolutely necessary!) is now off my list of things to do in a Disco after loosing my last one to a "puddle" at Cowm!

if you don't wanna play in water then the v8 would be my way to go,gearbox wise autos are real nice to drive on and off road .it's catch 22 cos ya got bored of just hills and want to splash too,then ya bored of sluggish power then want a v8..hills and water  a diesel will do both

Buy a diesel you can make it run under water with a length of drain pipe, loads of grunt and reasonable economy
Remember it will come in handy even if you never use it

Buy a V8 and gas it.  Go Auto, I myself am being drawn to the dark side :wink:
