I decided to go for it today, yes you guessed it right ! Shopping in my local supermarket. Trying to find my way round the fruit and veg isle was like driving on the M25. What is it with people, the shops are only shut for 2 days? Some woman managed to hit me with her trolley,I know I`m only 5ft 3" but hell that`s not small. I`ve now promised myself not to wander anywhere near the shops. If I`ve not got it i`ll do without it !!!!
Did somebody say MUD ?

So after kickout time :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

I'd rather go hungry than brave the supermarket now. I hate the places at the best of times. We try to get as much as possible from local producers anyway. Far superior quality and, contrary to popular belief, often cheaper.

And you don't get run over by shopping trolleys

You echo my sentiments exactly. Out the money back in the pockets of local producers and not the big supermarkets. River Cottage forever!

I can buy some stuff in the local shops at 2/3 of the price of the nearest Tesco. Things like Pampers nappies/wipes etc are 1/3 of the price they charge.

We did our local Tesco's at around 11ish this morning - bad move. Got home in time for dinner at 1. Getting the stuff wasn't to bad, getting it paid for was the nightmare - we saw one bloke pushing one trolley, and towing another!
Had a chat witha mate - he finished his shift at 7 this morning and popped in on his way home and the place was packed then.
I went to Morrisons 6ish (pm) - got what I wanted and out in 10 minutes.

If you have too, remember that there's still tomorrow and sunday!

Hope you all have a good one

Thats the sprit, not that we produce home grown, farm fresh, free range turkeys for crimbo or anything

You wouldn't belive the number of new (or at least not very old) beamers, range rovers, aston martins etc. that have been in and out of the yard at home today.
For some of the range rovers and discos our yard must have seemed pretty extreme off roading, there was all of ohh 2 mm of mud and 2 puddles    .
