as some of you may know, friday was a day of torrential rain, and like a duck to water i was loving the drive through water, it was going everywhere..
well...
checked fluid levels today and noticed a bit of wetness around the air filter.. (the red liquidy stuff you spray on a K&N)
opened the air filter and ther was water in it.. so i emptied it out, and also emptied out the drain hole, (which has been sealed up) and dried it out to the best of my ability..
also gave the filter a good shake, that was wet too
hmm maybe next time drive a bit more carefull through water..
but then again, the air intake cannot swivel beyond 90 degree because it sits lower than the body..
i think the alternative is to fit the cone shaped ones which ive seen on other snorkels
or see if an extension can be done to the snorkel so the intake can swivel 180 degrees and face backwards in wet weather..
its a southdown by the way
