I prefere the look of the alloys over the 8 spokes.
But then again...a set of Mach 5's would look great!

8 spokes, as long as they are not in chrome 8) . Don`t go for Mach 5s as the welds crack  .

Greame,

go for 8-spokes, preferably in white. They look great but if you're like me you'll find yourself out there cleaning the wheels every other day and leaving the mud on the rest of the Landy. Then you'll paint them every couple of months - or maybe it's just me

By the way I got my steering guard at Xmas, went for the one from All4wheels - local supplier where I get 10% off as a member of Beds, Herts and Cambs Land Rover Club. i'll send you a pick when i next take one.

Okay boys some PM's have arrived. I am going to make a decision today about keeping the alloys or selling them and as soon as i do you will be the first to know.
I need to point out that if the alloys come up for sale they will NOT be with the BFG A/T's as in the picture.

They will come with all the nuts over caps and locking nuts and wheel centre's

Just to add some furhter intrigue to the debate - I'm a big fan of the genuine modulars. They're not the lightest wheel on the market, but, by 'eck, they can take a hammering. However, this is only of interest though, if you were thinking about buying another set of wheels.

As for the alloy vs 8 spoke. I'm persoanlly a bit of a fan of steel wheel just due to the cost of replacement. The freestyles are a really tough wheel, but a scuffed alloy just looks a bit naff. A steel wheel is cheaper to replace and can be reaidly beaten back to a serviceable condition if needs must.

cheers

Right i've come to a decision of sorts. I think the Pig looks better in steel wheels i like the offset they give that fill the arches.

My original land rover freestyl alloys are now up for grabs including all the nuts, caps etc and locking nuts.

The Tyres BFG 265/75/16's are not for sale as they are almost new................................................unless someone comes up with right money
Still can't make my bl**dy mind up can i

Yes of course there is that option but i think the pig looks better in steels.

The alloys would be more suited to a nicely prepared road only going landy.

Just my opinion :)

Someone has come up with the right money for wheels and tyres so there gone, to another club member i pleased to say :D

So what next :?:

I think a nice set of 8 spokes, not chrome. Shod with 265.75.16 BFG M/T's
but which 8 spokes, god i hate being so indecisive  :?

Anyone has experience of BFG A/Ts and M/T's?

I liked my A/T''s nice allround tyre

How do they compere :?:
