Have you seen their sample size? 1,200. Total. So, allowing for comercial vehicles(*), normal cars, etc, we are looking at a sample of what, 300 tops? And on a motorway as well, which ain't exactly representative of normal driving either.
What confuses me is why anyone with half a brain would give credance to such groundless arse to begin with. But people clearly do.
*=and when was the last time you met a transport driver who didn't have to eat his dinner and fill in his logbook and read his maps on the road simply to get there on time?
Edit:
Submitted the following comment. I am clearly feeling grumpy this morning.
------------
I quote:
"Maybe they are more likely to take risks simply because they are less intelligent than cyclists or people who own small cars."
"Typical selfish response from a SUV driver"
"Taking the most astonishing risks with their 4x4s"
"Unless you are a farmer AND drive off road you simply don't need a 4X4." (my emphasis)
"It's the arrogance of 4x4 drivers"
And
"No one is having a go at people who use their 4x4"
Every single one of which is a lie. I am sorry, but if you can't be bothered to read a discussion before contributing, and if you do not have any evidence to support your opinions then please keep them to yourself. A sample size of 1,200 is proof of nothing more than half a wasted afternoon. Goodbye.

I don't expect it will get published.
