:)  :) Just got back from a visit to Town and what a sight I saw...I was standing next to a mini roundabout on the main road and a very nice new looking Range Rover approached the mini roundabout intending to turn left...this vehicle was being driven by a young woman...instead of completing her left turn correctly she cut across the roundabout and mounted the pavement on the opposite side...the cause of this off roading manouvre was caused because she was tring to steer and change gear with one hand because she was using her mobile phone with her other hand...fortunately no one was standing at the point where she mounted the pavement...makes you think does'nt it.....

Uh, and I think in this case Tailend has a good point. The driver was seemingly being a muppet. Think of the bad press had the dozey numpty hit a pedestrian.

If you wanna stop bad press, stop people being so ignorant behind the wheel

Cheers

But but but but ... new Range Rovers come with integrated bluetooth AND an optional handset cradle!?!?!

If I take mine out of the cradle it connects on bluetooth.....so I can't really answer the phone in the car unless I try really hard to get it *off* the car!!!

Double Muppet in this case then.

I take offense to that I don't wear lippy & use bluetooth when on the phone in my 4x4.

That's what got me as well :?

On a similar vein;
At our daughters school there's a woman who's just got a '56' plate MINI convertible. I overheard her say once day that she didn't get a hands-free kit fitted as it didn't look cool to be (seeming) talking to herself in the car, & roughly the same stance on bluetooth earpieces, but she'll clamp a flippy type thing in the crook of her neck & look even siller.

One of my favourite tricks when I was on the response cars was to cruise up beside a phone user and just sit there, as they drove along.
They would then become aware of a large batenburged BMW330 beside them, drop the phone, swerve and go into to flat spin mode.
I would then drop back, flick the blues on and give them a £30 'reminder'.
Mind you, I did that to one bloke, he screwed up the ticket and threw it on the ground, claiming he would have my job!
Personally, he is welcome to it. He got done for littering as well.

Oh yes! Is there any other way? I am usually quite a polite person, but sometimes sarcasm feels just sooo good, baby!
I always tried to speak to people in a way that I would want to be spoken to, but there would be times when politeness just wouldn't work.
Once I stopped a young lady for excess speed in a 40 mph area on a bad bend. She got very ratty, and became quite insulting when I tried to explain why the restriction was there.
In the end I asked her to walk 20 yards down the road with me, where I showed her a memorial that had been put up by the parents of a lad who had been speeding and 'overcooked' on the bend and had died after hitting a tree.
She didn't get a ticket, but drove a lot more slowly after that.
