Take the stepper motor out of the plenum (its on the driver side) - clean it up - sounds like it's sticking. It's easy to spot, has a 3 wire connector going to it and it's on the side of the big silver thing with 3.9 stamped in it ;-)

dont worry im good with engines so i no where the stepper motor is and what it does, im just not very good with electronics.....

i did think it my be this but wasnt to sure

could still do with hooking it up to a ROVACOM just to make sure nothing else needs sorting like my lambda sensors, or air flow meter etc

AFM will give Check Engine light, as will lamdas and throttle pot ..... just disconnect them and try and run without if you don't believe me :-)

The stepper won't cause a check engine light - it'll just make your idle screwy. I think I have a spare somewhere....

Disconnect battery to reset light :-)

Rovacom for a 3.9 on Hotwire, got one of those mate and your welcome to come over and use it (beer token appreciated but not compulsory).

Also keep spare ECU
