hi all,
i finally got round to fitting a few bits to the bobtail today, and fired her up. she started on the button, but seems to be a few cylinders short of a symphony...
i pulled all the plugs and they seem fine, im 95% certain the leads are where they should be ( note to self, dont use plyers from the boot sale to hold ht leads...

). as she ticks over ok i can only assume fuel is not the problem. although she doesnt seem to keen to rev up. there is no back fire or real misfire ??? :?:
im pretty sure the manifolds (exhaust )are leaking as i could hear air escaping on tickover, but this shouldnt affect the running should it?
any way im sure you lot know a damn site more about these engines than me, so i will await some help from this vast fountain of knowledge.
i look forward to any help/advise you can give
kris
forgot to mention its a 1981 3.5 V8 on carbs..
