It's odd though.  Most of us wouldn't dream of leaving £10K of cash lying around the house, but we do leave our car keys for the taking.  Maybe it's time to think about a key safe.  Shouldn't have left the one in the 101 when I sold it...

There will be somebody out there defending them though if they get caught, it will all be due to the fact that their parents denied them sweetie's when they were small, and that is the reason that they are theiving B*&%%$*&%S now.

And the army won't take them, so what should we do? other than castrate them to stop their breeding.

Its funny that you say that. I saw in the paper the other day that a guy has been just been convicted of possesion with intent to supply cocaine.
After being nicked for it, he applied to join the Paras, and apparently was accepted.
The judge  has said that if he doesn't get in, he will be doing a 3 year stretch.
Now this raises a few questions. To get a 3 year sentence, he must have had a fair amount of coke on him, and have got previous convictions.
So how has he got through the selection process? I far as I was aware, if you had any hint of links to drugs, especially a conviction for dealing Class A, the Army would turn you down.
I'm rather intrigued by all this.
Two trains of thought.
1) He has obviously got drug issues and shouldn't be anywhere near the Services
2) He has now got a chance to sort himself out, get his life on track, and make something of himself.

Your thoughts, folks?

i must admit i take my laptop, ipod, and car keys into my bedroom with me everynight.

Everything stays very close to me. Even during the day my keys dont really go out of my sight and neither does my laptop.

I do now have insurance cover for all my things now which makes me slightly better, but im always the last to bed to check the front and rear doors. I really dont trust people around here.  :?

Can't put anyone like that in the forces... the fact that they are drug users/dealers means they have a poor sense of morals... they couldn't be trusted and trust in your buddies in vital in the forces.

Good old fashioned hard labour, ( but constructive, useful work ) a blanket on a concrete slab to sleep on, and  blind obedience at all times or they get a thrashing.

Short very sharp sentances at first. ( for 'lesser' crimes )

You know I can go on... I had a post pulled a long while back as people thought I was too harsh on the little darlings... stocks, public humiliation etc..

In the 90's when serving in the RAF, I did  a tour in recruiting, people who had used drugs or had convictions (other than minor offences) were not accepted. The services don't need them. They need to be trustworthy.

I weas an aircraft technician-you don't want people working for or with you that can't be trusted for obvious reasons.

On the other hand, I met some excellent young people during my time in the job. we went into schools/careers shows etc. The scrotes were in the minority! Don't know about today-of course it is the bad minority that get all the headlines.

I'm glad to hear that it's been recovered, Dreadnought. Unfortunately an uncommon occurence, especially with the scrote still in it.
A word of advice though. If perchance that he doesn't get charged with it, namely "I didn't know it was stolen", "I just found it and was taking it to the Police" or the old favourite "I bought it from a bloke in the pub", ask the investigating officer about the rules of 'being found in recent possesion'.
All the best with it,mate.
